Delta Airline Expands Travel Option for Weather Affected Customers

According to a recent Press Release, due to the continued weather in the Northeast coastal region of the U.S., Delta Air Lines has expanded the travel options for customers whose flight plans have been impacted. The newly released bulletin is an expansion of the January 9, 2011 advisory and now includes Philadelphia, PA (PHL) as well. The updated information has been underscored. Please note that Delta Airline, Air France and KLM Airline policies may vary between carriers due to local operational circumstances and limitations.

Dates of Impacted Travel:    January 11, 2011 through January 12, 2011

Delta will waive administrative change fees and travel agents may rebook and reissue tickets provided the below guidelines are met and applied:

    Travel has not commenced on the affected flight segment and the ticket has not been reissued by Delta The first departure flight is more than 3 hours away Customer has not checked in (If checked in, Delta must reissue the ticket) One change is permitted under this policy without penalty fees or Administrative Service Charge (ASC) Tickets can only be reissued by the agency that originally issued the ticket

Applicable Dates

    New travel must be rebooked no later than:      January 18, 2011 New travel must originate on or before:            January 18, 2011 Ticket must be reissued on or before:               January 18, 2011

Change to Origin / Destination

Changes to origin / destination are permitted however; the fare difference must be collected at the time of ticketing.

Minimum/Maximum Stay Requirements

    Minimum/Maximum stay requirements may be waived within the parameters of above policy. When changes to the outbound travel occur, the unaffected return date may be changed to protect the original length of the trip. The return travel must be booked in the original class of service.

Note: If customers are unable to rebook or reissue their ticket within the given timeline, they can cancel their reservation and use the value of the ticket toward the purchase of a new ticket for a period of one year from the date of original issuance. Please note for tickets reissued after January 18, 2011, change fees will apply.

Refunds

If a customer’s flight is cancelled due to this event, and no other alternate flights are acceptable, travel agents may refund a totally unused non-refundable ticket(s) through normal ARC/BSP processing. Travel agents whose customers contact them directly to initiate the refund may utilize the Travel Agent Weather Event Online Refund form to submit the request.

Enroute/Diversion

Connecting customers’ enroute to one of the above-listed destinations or whose flights are diverted will have the option to return to their original departure city and rebook travel to alternate future dates.

Customers should work directly with the airport to obtain a boarding pass for return travel to their original departure city. If the customer wishes to rebook travel to alternate future dates, please contact Delta Reservations for assistance. Alternatively, they may receive a refund if re-accommodation options are unacceptable.

Travel agents whose customers contact them directly to initiate the refund may utilize the Travel Agent Weather Event Online Refund form to submit the request.

    Bulk/Net Fare tickets must be referred to original issuing agent Some affected itineraries may have been proactively rebooked and reissued. If assistance is needed with additional changes, please contact Delta. Changes outside of these guidelines are subject to the reissue rules of the ticketed fare. This includes any applicable additional collection or administrative fees.

Air France – Winter Weather impacts travel along U.S. East Coast – January 10, 2011

UPDATE: Snow disrupting travel to/from U.S. East Coast January 9 – 13, 2011.

Due to severe weather conditions along the eastern United States, impacting travel to/from ATL, JFK, EWR, DCA, IAD, BOS from Sunday, January 9, 2011 to Thursday, January 13, 2011 Air France has implemented specific commercial instructions.

Impacted travel dates:

All Air France customers scheduled to travel to/from the following airports on the dates indicated, may rebook their flights without charge regardless of the fare purchased:

    ATL from Jan. 9 to Jan 12, 2011 JFK, EWR, DCA, IAD from Jan. 11 to Jan. 12, 2011 BOS from Jan. 12 to Jan. 13, 2011

Rebooking in the same booking class is permitted through Jan. 18, 2011. If the original booking class is not available, book the next higher class and collect the applicable fare difference.

Tickets must be reissued by Jan. 18, 2011.
